TELUS has launched legal action against Rogers over their claims that they operate "Canada's fastest network". TELUS launched their new HSPA+ network (with the help of Bell) on November 5th. They now feel that Rogers claims are now false and are therefore seeking an end to their advertising and damages.
Rogers launched their "Canada's fastest network" advertising campaign in 2007. TELUS feels that these claims are now inaccurate since the launch of their new network.
TELUS is seeking a declaration from Rogers that its advertisements
breached Canada's Competition Act, in addition to injunction from
distributing the ads, damages and compensation.
